Our menu, including homemade hot chocolate, is especially popular with skiers, snowboarders, and hikers in Zermatt.

Originally built as an exclusive mountain chalet, Stafelalp became a mountain restaurant in Zermatt as the ski area attracted more and more visitors.
Numerous historical events have shaped this place – from legendary parties to a fire in 2018. Today, Stafelalp reopens its doors and invites you to become part of its story.
The new old Stafelalp
Three years after the fire, the new Stafelalp reopened on December 10, 2021.
The mountain restaurant is now a new icon in Zermatt, with a menu featuring both old favorites and new surprises. Enjoy alpine cuisine, Swiss classics, and creative dishes while admiring the view of the Matterhorn.
